About our Homestay Immersion Track
Spain Abroad offers two HOMESTAY IMMERSION locations. One in Northern Spain, León, and one in Southern Spain, Estepona. Each city offers a different view of Spain. León is closer to the mountains, and Estepona is a seaside beach town on the Mediterranean Sea. If you can't decide why not try a month at each.

"If you're looking to interact with locals in the country you're visiting, a homestay or farmstay offers an unbeatable opportunity for cross-cultural exchange. While living with a family for a few nights or a few weeks, you can practice a new language, learn to cook traditional dishes, get the inside scoop on local politics or see a neighborhood through the eyes of someone who lives there.
Many people who have done homestays also find that by the time they leave, they feel less like a guest and more like a member of the family. Don't be surprised if you find yourself keeping in touch with your hosts long after you head back home."

the Leon location is available July and August

20 hours of Spanish language class per week at the University of León

Possible 3 transferrable college credits per month!

3 local cultural excursions per month: Cathedral tour, San Isidro tour, San Marcos/MUSAC, Museo de Leon, or Casa Botines

2 regional cultural excursions per month: Astoria/Las Medusas, Cuevas de Valporquero, Salamanca, Valencia de Don Juan, Mountain of Leon, or Cantabria

For students 18 and older, for an additional cost, 2-day excursions to places such as Pais Vasco and Galicia may be available

Other extracurricular activities are optional for an extra cost, such as:

Three meals a day and a private room will be provided by your host family in your homestay. Most importantly you become part of a family with memories that will last forever. This is a wonderful way to immerse in the culture, practice your language skills, and connect with locals.

500 Euro deposit (50% refundable if canceled two months prior to start date)

The Benefits of a Host Family
Enrolling in a homestay program is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You’re able to really engage with a generous and giving family who is taking it upon themselves to share with you their culture, customs and language. It is an immersive experience where you get to not only learn about a different culture but actually live it. You join in their meals, participate in their daily routines, and practice the Spanish language in a realistic environment. Studies show that we adapt quickly and we learn the fastest when we are truly immersed in something. When we allow ourselves to get out of our comfort zone, we can expand our minds and enrich our lives in ways that we never thought would be possible. Spain Abroad is so excited to offer this opportunity to our students. All of the host families have been vetted with complete background checks and intensive interviews in order to ensure a supportive, healthy, encouraging atmosphere for your time while you are with us in Spain. This Application fee is Non refundable

If Approved, You will be invoiced and asked to Pay Tuition
3600 Euros for 1 month
7,200 Euros for 2 months
Once Tuition is received, your space is reserved .

Coordinate Flights and Host Families
If your enrollment is cancelled prior to one month before departure, your tuition can be reimbursed minus half of the first months tuition (1700 euros)
Cost does not include travel to and from león/EStepona, medical travel insurance, spending money, or additional classes or trips
